The collaborative method
On Thursday, we discussed the collaborative approach, which is based on three important methods: Community language learning, Task-based learning, and Content-based learning.
Community language learning is a language teaching method that involves a psychological aspect where students work together to develop the language skills they want to learn. Some crucial points to remember are that you need your peers to learn, it's a teacher-friendly method that requires no preparation, and error correction takes place later.
Task-based learning is focused on meaningful task completion. It involves activities such as creating a poster, producing a newsletter, video, or pamphlet, or designing a map of the school or neighborhood. Planning is crucial, and the method incorporates long and time-consuming activities to develop well-crafted projects.
Content-based learning is based on a subject matter core, uses authentic language and texts, and is guided by learner needs. Examples of the subjects include Biology, Math, Social Studies/Sciences, Arts, etc.
This is a mind map that we created in classes.
Have a great day! Thank you for reading me once again.
