Third week - Audiolingual method

Hello!πŸ˜€Today's blog will focus on a new learning method taught in class, known as the Audiolingual Method or Army Method. πŸ”Š But before diving into that, let's first compare the Grammar Translation Method (GTM) and the Direct Method (DM) to distinguish between the two.

Now, let's jump into our new method.

The Audiolingual Method, also known as the Army Method, was developed to help the military become proficient in speaking and listening skills πŸŽ€πŸ‘‚. This method prioritizes speaking and listening over reading and writing πŸ—£️πŸ‘‚. It uses dialogues as the primary form of language presentation, without the use of the mother tongue in the classroom πŸ—£️πŸ‘₯.

During the course, we learned some techniques that can be applied to this method, such as:

- Repetition drill: where students repeat after the teacher, usually a dialogue πŸ”„πŸ—£️.
- Substitution drill: where students change specific words in a dialogue πŸ”€πŸ—£️.
- Question and Answer drill: where students quickly answer the teacher's questions ❓πŸ—£️.
- Transformation drill: where students change sentences from positive to negative or vice versa πŸ”„✖️.

That is all for today's blog. Feel free to comment whatever you want!
